The key system has no API, only a 15-year-old web interface. How do you integrate an AI workflow with it?

First look for supported options: a database read replica, export jobs, an integration layer the customer already owns, or the vendor's API that nobody turned on. If the only path is the UI, consider computer-use automation or RPA, but treat it as fragile: a dedicated service account, a sandboxed browser, read-only where possible, screenshots logged for audit, monitoring for UI changes, and a fallback to a human. Wrap it behind a tool interface (e.g. an MCP server) so the rest of the system does not depend on the UI details. Agree with the system owner that this is acceptable.
