Privacy Policy

Overview
Learn AI Engineering ("we", "us", "our") operates learnaiengineering.dev (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information when you visit our Site. We are committed to transparency and your right to privacy.
This policy describes data handling; visiting the site does not by itself provide consent to advertising cookies.
1. Information We Collect
We collect minimal information necessary to provide and improve our service:
- Information you provide: The contact form prepares a draft in your email application. The site does not submit it. If you send that email, we receive the name, email address and message you include.
- Local progress data: Your reading progress, bookmarks and notes are stored locally in your browser via localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers.
- Automatically collected data: Our hosting provider may process technical request logs, such as IP address, requested URL and browser information, to deliver and secure the site. If you subscribe to email updates, we store your email address, the page you subscribed from and the time, on our own database. We first send one confirmation email and add you to the list only after you click its link; addresses that are not confirmed within 30 days are deleted. We use your address only to send the updates you asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in any email or by emailing connect@learnaiengineering.dev. The site also records anonymous, first-party page views and a few product events (page path and referring domain only) in its own database. No cookies, IP addresses, user agents or identifiers are stored by this first-party analytics. If you choose Accept on the cookie notice (or enable Analytics in Cookie Preferences), we also load Microsoft Clarity, a third-party behaviour-analytics service that sets cookies and records anonymised clicks, scrolling and page performance. Clarity does not load unless you opt in, and you can withdraw consent at any time from Cookie Preferences in the footer. We do not install Google Analytics.
2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies: Theme preference, learning progress and local profile settings are stored in your browser. You can clear them through browser settings; this resets your saved preferences and progress.
- Analytics cookies: Our first-party analytics does not set cookies or store personal data. Microsoft Clarity sets cookies (such as _clck and _clsk) only after you opt in.
- Advertising cookies: Not currently set by this application. Before advertising is enabled, this policy and the consent controls must reflect the active advertising services.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect site functionality.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain and improve our educational content
- To respond to your enquiries and feedback
- To analyse usage patterns and improve user experience
- To display relevant advertising (see Section 4)
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
4. Google AdSense and Advertising
Advertising is not currently active in this application. If Google AdSense is enabled after approval, Google and other third-party advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons and IP addresses to deliver and measure ads. Where required, a consent message must be provided before using advertising storage or personal data; you can decline or change your choice.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- For more information about how Google uses data, see "How Google uses information from sites that use its services".
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect information:
- Analytics: Anonymous first-party analytics, plus Microsoft Clarity only if you opt in. No Google Analytics is installed.
- Google AdSense: Planned advertising, subject to approval and consent setup.
- Google Fonts: Typography
These third parties have their own privacy policies governing how they use your data.
6. Data Retention
Local progress data (stored in your browser) persists until you clear your browser data. Anonymous analytics events are kept for 12 months and then deleted. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 90 days for follow-up purposes.
7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure: Request deletion of your data
- Opt-out: Opt out of personalised advertising and analytics
- Data portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.
8. Children's Privacy
Our Site is intended for developers and professionals aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
